Apparently, Boreal is asking for a pretty hefty price for the Viniology
kits.
If you shop around a bit, you can easily beat the $40 price that
they're asking.
Let's start on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...5277 991&rd=1
*NEW* Viniology CHARDONNAY Wine Kit price: US $19.95

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...6641 268&rd=1
Viniology Merlot Zinfandel Wine Kit..... price: US $21.95

Those are the "buy it now" prices. You might save a few bucks if you
bid in the auction.
Or, if you don't like ebay, try http://www.crucible.org/lab_kits.htm
where you can find them for $30.

Of course that doesn't include shipping, but I assume Boreal would
charge you shipping too...
