Vino-o-meter Troubles
Hi,
trying to use one of these on a kit Reisling. I must be doing something really wrong because I can't get a reading at all. The top of the liquor (from where I believe I read) never reaches the zero mark, never mind a percentage. Where am I going wrong? |

It should be very clean, I clean mine with grain alcohol after
rinsining, it leaves no residue. The wine must be dry, it works on viscosity. I fill mine 2/3 full, let 6 drops pass through and invert to read. It was dripping but I think you may be right and it may be a toy for the
bin. I will stick with the hydrometer. The reason I was checking was I think the kit is a bit pooh. Initial gravity was 67 which seems way too low so I guess I will need to drink this one quickly. There are worse things in life than having a lot of cheap wine that you need to drink! Just be sure everybody is already drunk first! John 2:10 and *said to him, "Every man serves the good wine first, and when {the people} have drunk freely, {then he serves} the poorer {wine;} {but} you have kept the good wine until now." John 2:11 This beginning of {His} signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him. > > "Bob" > wrote in message > ... > > > > "R-D-C" > wrote in message > > ... > >> Hi, > >> > >> trying to use one of these on a kit Reisling.
