This year, I would like to buy some pails of Peter Brehm must. I
would like to buy either Cabernet Sauvignon or Syrah. They have different Cab and I wonder is there big difference in the quality of thoses ? Here is the cab I am looking at; Cabernet Sauvignon from El Dorado Cabernet Sauvignon from Hopland, Mendocino Cabernet Sauvignon from Sonoma Mtn And this is the Syrah ; Syrah from Stage Gulch, Sonoma Any other variety that could really worth the try ? Thanks, Séb |

I can tell you that the Sonoma Mtn. Cab produces an awesome wine, but I
can't compare it to any of the others. Also I haven't done any of their syrah I have gotten the Carneros merlot for several years and enjoy it with about 20-25% cab. added - I've tried both the Sonomo and Napa version and can tell little difference. Both were high-quality grapes. You better get your order in pronto if you want some of this year's vintage. --Lee |

I've sampled most of their offerings, and have rarely been disappointed. The
viognier last year was REALLY sweet, and the pH was too high, but that's apparently not unusual for this grape. Their syrahs, cabs, merlots, and many of their whites like rieslings are wonderful. The only one that wasn't so great was a zin that I suspect turned out smelly probably because of my inexperience rather than any problem with the grapes Honestly, I make half of my wines from California grapes that are available here in MD in September and October, and half from Brehm, and the ones from Brehm are ALWAYS better. I live in Brunswick. I may have a cheaper alternative for you than Brehm. I don't want to appear as if I am advertising for another company so send me an email and I will tell you my experience with another source. |
