Is there any one on this list who has the authority to clean it up ? It seems
to be in a "stuck" mode, and I'm not talking about fermentation. The exact
same postings appear every day - quite lenthy - and there's a lot of trash
coming thru that has nothing to do with wine making.

If this can't be done, we would like to exit from this news group, but it isn't
at all intresting any more.

Someone, please respond.

This is (as far as I know) an unmoderated newsgroup. Now and then someone
will crosspost some trash to it, but you can pretty easily tell that from
the subject. In general, this has been one of the cleaner newsgroups on the
net. Most of the posters are polite, and some of them are very well
informed and willing to share and lend a hand.

IOW, your experience doesn't jibe with mine. Perhaps your ISP has issues
with its server that could account for repetitious posts. Possibly your
machine has been infected with a worm or virus. There are plenty of those
around! If you aren't behind a software firewall with good antivirus
protection your machine is pretty much guaranteed to be infected. To find
out, go to www.pccillin.com and run Housecall. HTH.

What system are you running it appears that you have not sync your
newsgroups lately.
Not doing this would result in what you indicate.
As for the trash it is up to you to keep your own house in order.
If you do not apply your options then you can only expect what you get.
I would have preferred to reply directly but due to your none communication
e-mail address.
This is the only way to convey to you.

I'm sorry you're having such a tough time on this site. Yes, there is
garbage, but it is usually easy to spot and delete right away. If you think
this is bad you should've seen things 6 months ago, we had some real trolls
rambling through. I've been on this site for over a year, and I've always
found it to be helpful. Yes, there is usually the same requests over and
over again, that's because I think a lot of us are newbie's, well relatively
speaking (4th year of making wine). There's nothing wrong with making your
own posts if you have questions of comments. Hang in there.

Thanks to all who replied - copies of our post and your responses keep getting
repeated every day and there seems to be no end to it.

I'll try the web site you suggested. Thanks again.

I am not seeing your problem but when a post like that comes across I just
block the sender and never see him again.
