Default Can Oak chips be reused

I recently purchased some french oak chips and added about 3 oz to a
cabernet that I have bulk aging. Let's say that I keep them in the wine for
2 or 3 months. Is there any point in trying to reuse them in another wine
later? If so then is it sufficient to rinse them well and then heat
sanitize?

Thanks for your help!

Dave
