We all use a sieve at some piont in winemaking.
But most of the time a kitchen sieve is too small for our purposes. Therefore I build a bucket-sieve something more newbie winemakers might be interested in. The principle is quit easy. You take two buckets that fit together well. From one of the buckets you cut the upper 6 to 8 inches. Then you put a cheesecloth into the other bucket and firmly press the cutted bucket into that. Easy to make in a few minutes but I had e-mails from several newbe winemnakers that had never heard of it. In lieu of the upcoming dandelion and elderblossom season where a good sieve can become handy I made a photo impression on how to make one of these on my web-log: http://wijnmaker.blogspot.com/2008/0...ng-bucket.html Enjoy.
