Default 2006 Dagueneau Pouilly Fume Silex

I shared a bottle of 2006 Silex yesterday at lunch with a friend. We
had a tasty grilled seafood salad and the wine was a good match. Very
tight nose at first (the bottle was a bit too cold) but it opened up
in a few minutes to show a fair amount of orange marmalade and lemon
zest with a pronounced salty minerality. Fairly lean at first on the
palate with a fair amount of zingy acidity but it quickly fattened up
a bit and there was a fair amount of lemon and grapefruit flavors with
a slightly floral background and a lot of stones on the finish. Nice

I like Silex when I can afford it which isn't often and hard to find
around here. One of the best Sauvignon Blancs out there.
