Default TN: value white Burg- Pernot

For meatless Monday Betsy made an excellent mushroom soup, along with
some leftover lentils and a nice salad. Wine was the 2005 Pernot
Bourgogne Blanc, last of a case I think. Showing quite well- ripe pear
fruit laced with mineral notes and buoyed by good acidity. Balanced,
rich, crisp. This was a great buy at $14, sad to see go. B+/B

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent
wine, B a good wine, C mediocre. Anything below C means I wouldn't
drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no
promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.*

Dale,
What do you think of the '08 Pernot Bourgogne Blanc? I see that
Envoyer is getting in 20 cases for a good price.

I'm planning on getting some, I generally find dependable. I loved
2004, 2005, and 2007 (06 was good but a bit ripe for me) - I think 08
should be fine. I'll probably add some to next time I get something
from WineLibrary ($18). I like Envoyer, but their shipping is high,
which makes a difference with under $30 bottles.
