Default Can not wait much longer for the warmer weather

Here in New Haven, CT. my wife and I drink big, full bodied reds all winter
long. We have had the first hint of spring, and we're looking forward to
some great white wines and some roses.

Here is my warmer weather list:

- Alabarino
-Proesecco (sp?) (yes, yes, yes) And let's put some Cava in here.
-Of course some Sauvignon Blanc
-But--Pinot Grigio and Orvietto!
-And Bandol roses.
-Sekt

Any other warm weather quaffers? Wines you can drink on the deck or along
the pool without getting too drunk?

Rich

I actually drink little wine in warm weather, but I always like a good
Riesling from the Mosel or Rheingau with poise to it, hint of lime or
grapefruit peel in the aroma, maybe Kabinett weight from the young 2001s or
2002s, and (unless also trumpeted by some numerical critic) they run very
moderate in price. Or a pleasant Austrian Grüner Veltliner or young
Prälatenwein. (Ideally the former should be consumed by the "eighth" at the
crowded wine bar of the Schwartzen Kameel with endless open-faced
sandwiches -- "Diplomaten" and other styles -- and political arguments; the
latter by the mug with a crisp Schnitzel and cold vegetable salad, lemon
wedge on the side -- but these ideal settings are not always possible, life
thrives where there is compromise!.) I'm getting hungry.

Or do as the Austrians do with their gruner veltliner: take one at
the table wine or steinfeder level & mix with some sparkling mineral
water: hello spritzer! Perfect for backyard afternoons & pairs with
everything.

You made ME hungry. There is Germany, warm weather quaffers are beers. Your
wine suggestions are great. Going hunting tomorrow. Thanks again.
