“I would rather be able to appreciate things I can not have than to have things I am not able to appreciate.” (Elbert Hubbard)
Does that have any meaning anymore considering that people now take
their own personal likes and dislikes so seriously? |

Depends how you interpret "have". You need to taste wine to appreciate it - you only have it in the colloquial sense of having a sip, or having a glass of the wine. Possessing a bottle gives me very little pleasure. And indeed if it truns out to be corked it never will. -- Steve Slatcher http://pobox.com/~steve.slatcher |
