Hello all,

I understand that this post might use as much bandwidth as an advert; for
sale post, but out of courtesy I thought I'd ask first anyway.

I have loads of wine stuff I no longer need. Anyone mind if I offer it here?
I'll just do one FS post; not loads.

I hope that makes sense
Regards
Sammy

Sammy, it has nothing to do with band width - a.f.w. is not commercial.

However, from your explanation, you are not making a commercial post, simply
wanting to unload some books to like-minded people with an interest /
passion for wine.

Preface your post (in the subject line with FS (for sale) and ensure what
you are offering is "on topic" - i.e. books or mags et on wine appreciation
(note - if these books are on the subject of winemaking, then this is not
the forum - rather rec.crafts.winemaking) then I am sure that you will
receive no complaints for posting.

Good luck

Interesting. Sammy, I see your post has first been pre-qualified, then
validated, and then corrected, by our very own St. Hypocrite. Pay it no
heed. He and his Merry Men are just throwing their weight around. You
might want to duck.

Of course, it certainly has nothing to do with bandwidth. St.
Hypocrite's own "guarded" approval of your post took up more keystrokes
than your initial message!

Post *whatever* you want here, but do try to keep it on-topic. If you
have something of interest to the group, we'd love to hear about it.
I'd like to know what wine stuff you have. Ignore complaints demanding
you post to other groups. This list is about "anything related to
wine". Not "whine".

Cheers,

David

It sounds like a perfectly reasonable request, Sammy, so I doubt that it
would meet with much objection. Don't worry about the sniping going on
in this thread, either: it's just some personal vendettas played out in
a public arena.

Thank you for the replies.

It's mostly books; 'undreds of 'em. I'll write a list and post it here. I'd
like to sell the whole lot in one go, they take up a lot of space and with
the birth of my new daughter space is even more precious than ever. Time to
read and drink is all but gone, too.

I've got loads of good stuff from the staples like Johnson Atlas to ancient
books which give a magical insight into how our Great Grandparents might
have been *told* what/ how to drink. And they were!

In a way it's a bit sad for me because I like wine and I used to tenderly
research each detail of wines but summink's gotta give :-). Oh! for anyone
who feels sad for me; I'll keep a few texts and the wine will still occupy a
few cubic feet :-)..... just not the books.

Regards
Sammy
