I bought this to make poached eggs. Have yet to have them come out the way I want them. A mess to clean,stem to pull the tray out very loose,takes too long, doing them the old fashioned way far superior.
This does not poach eggs at all. If you do it according to their instructions, your eggs are raw and clear. If you add more water, the yolks turn solid and you can't even remove the egg. The poacher is impossible to clean. I bought a sos pad just for it. You can't even fit a large egg in a poaching compartment, it spills over. When I hard boil, some eggs burst at the top. I've had it 6 mo and it has turned rusty on the bottom and the water that forms on the top of my poached eggs turned a reddish color.
Had friends visiting and showed them how easy it is to get great poached or hardboiled eggs using this handy egg cooker. Bought them on and they love it! Especially when it crows when the eggs are done. Great item, Great price. Keep up the good work AMAZON!
My husband loves eggs bennidict so we decided to make it at home. He didn't like the thickness and shape of the poached eggs. they come out like a triangle and are to thick also its very difficult to get the perfect consistancy of the eggs.. We don't recommend this product pay more for a better egg poacher..
Henrietta Hen arrived quickly and was packed securely. It boiled the 7 eggs to perfection. We raise our own chickens and use a lot of eggs, and the fresher the egg it always seemed, the harder they were to peel, not with Henrietta! For some reason, after the eggs were cooked and cooled, they ALL peeled like a dream, the shell came off in two pieces! It's a fun product to use and also looks cute just sitting on our counter.

Pour water into the base to one of three levels for soft-, medium-, or hard-boiled eggs; puncture their big ends with the piercing pin in a separate cooking-rack cavity to prevent shells from cracking; plug in the power base; and steam cooks the eggs. The tray, which requires water at level two, rests on the cooking rack if poached eggs are desired.
