I wanted to know if the use of Photo ID scanners like these
http://www.photosales.com/customer/home.php?cat=60 are legal to use in California. Does anyone have any experience with these types of Drivers Licence magstripe readers? I work at a bar / restaurant and we are always getting people with out of state ID. Our managers have told us that we are responsible for making sure that the people in the restaurant side have valid ID and the books are just to difficult to keep close and the ID's keep changing. At about $400 it seems like a good deal - are they legal to use? I have seen these at some night clubs and they seem to be very quick and very effective but the question is can we use them in the restaurant tables or do we need to only have them in the bar area? Thank you, Steven |
