Anyone make the BrewKing Symphony kit? I am thinking about making it but
can't find anyone who knows anything about it. All that BrewKing could tell
me was it is a Dry white wine. I assume it is a blush.

Why would a white wine be a blush? I did the Limited Symphony in 2001. It was
excellent with a peach/apricot taste. This years vintage is supposed to have
some other fruit notes but not the apricot. I would think the description
should be on their website. I know it is described in the Ltd.Ed. pamphlet.

Since it is a blend of a white grape and a red grape, I figured that maybe
some color of the red grape would effect the color of the wine.

The Symphony grape is a grape that is a hybrid of 2 grapes. The grape created
by the hybridization is white. If it were a blend of the 2 grapes (one being
red) then yes the juice of those 2 grapes would be a blush.

Here's the info. on Symphony grapes. A couple of members of my Cellarmaster
wine club make Symphony wine. In 2002 Symphony wines took 1st and 2nd place
in the White Vinifera Table Wine Category at our Wine Classic Amateur
Winemaking contest.

White-wine producing grape-cross derived from Muscat of Alexandria and
Grenache Gris created in 1948 by a Univ. Davis viticulturist. The wine has
an unusual resistance to oxidation, maintaining its light color, delicate
Muscat flavor and bouquet for ten or more years. Fully ripens around late
September in central California where it is mainly used as a varietal or
blending wine in sweet, sparkling or dry format. May be the variety known as
Symphonie in the Alsace region of France.

Brewking's Symphony is a hybrid of two French grapes, the Muscat of
Alexandria, a white grape of intensely aromatic "grapey" character,
and Grenache Gris, a red grape. This hybrid produces a white wine,
not a blush. It has an intense aroma. Briliantly fruity bouquet.
Good acidity and a hint of tannin carried over from the Grenache Gris.
Boy does it go down easy. The closest commercial product is
"Obsession" by Ironstone Vineyards (California). Try that first. If
you like that, you'll like Brewking's Symphony.

of the dry and making one Semi-Sec.
