Default Fruitcake Cookies

Fruitcake Cookies

Ingredients:

1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. jelly
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 T. milk
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. allspice
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 pound raisins
1/2 pound candied cherries, chopped
1/2 pound candied pineapple, chopped
2 c. pecans, chopped

Directions:

Cream together butter, sugar, eggs and jelly. Dissolve baking soda
into milk
and add it to butter mixture. Stir together flour and spices. Stir
half of
this mixture into the butter mixture. Dredge the nuts and fruits in
the
remaining flour mixture and combine all. Drop by rounded
tablespoonfuls onto
greased cookie sheet. Decorate tops with sliced candied fruits and
cherries
if desired. Bake in preheated 300-degree oven for about 20 minutes.
Note: If
cookies are sticking to sheets, use a little flour to dust the sheets.
