Default TIRAMISU CHIP GELATO

TIRAMISU CHIP GELATO

Yield: 4 to 5 cups
Note: This recipe requires a ice cream maker.
Source: "125 Best Chocolate Chip Recipes" by Julie Hasson

INGREDIENTS

- 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur
- 1 tablespoon instant coffee granules
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup superfine sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips

DIRECTIONS

In a small bowl, stir together coffee liqueur and instant coffee
granules.

In a food processor fitted with a metal blade, combine cream, cream
cheese and sugar. Pulse until smooth, scraping down side of bowl as
necessary. Add milk and coffee mixture, pulsing until smooth.

Pour into ice cream maker and freeze according to manufacturer's
directions. When gelato is thick and almost frozen, add chocolate
chips. Continue freezing until very thick and firm.

Serve the gelato immediately or freeze in an airtight container for up
to 1 day.
