Cinnamon Toast Strata

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened
1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
16 slices cinnamon raisin bread, sliced thinly
8 eggs
2 cups milk
3 Tablespoons maple syrup

Cream butter, cinnamon, and sugar until smooth. Spread onto 8 slices of
bread
and top with remaining 8 slices. Place sandwiches in two greased 9-inch
square baking dishes. Blend eggs, milk, and syrup and pour over bread.
Cover and

refrigerate overnight.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve with maple syrup.
