Default Request: Vidalia Onion Pickle Recipe

Google brings up all kinds of ways of turning Vidalias into relish, but
that's not quite what I want. In the past, I've cut onions up into
large wedges and tried pickling them. They came out all right, but I
don't have that recipe since it wasn't really a keeper. From my
understanding, Vidalias are much sweeter. THey also seemed much more
yellow. I could improvise by using less sugar and no tumeric, but I'm
hoping somebody has a full recipe I can attempt first.
