Apricots (holding my breath)

WHooooo, our apricot trees are blooming, full of open blooms on the
south side of each tree (two old, one planted last year.)

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that our freezing temperatures are over
and we get a bumper crop. Jam jars await and the neighbors salivate
every time they talk about eating our fruit.

Me too, I wish they grew well this far south. Our peach tree and the
Bruce plum are loaded with wee fruit. Now if the tree rats and the
grackles don't destroy them maybe we can enjoy the fruits of the harvest
later this year.

We planted an Apricot tree in our front yard - first year we got 2
apricots - wonderfully sweet.
THen last year after blooming suddenly started dying off branch by
branch - no apparent cause - no body had any ideas ... now all we have
left is a dead main trunk - which I will have to cut down ... But there
appears to be a few "runners" around the base that are about 3 ft high
at the moment - so we will wait & see ... besides the birds like the
dead tree as a perch....
