Half Gallon Jars

So. The commissary had a 6-bottle case of half gallon jars which use wide
mouth lids. They are new. They usually buy the Ball brand. The Ball site
recommends them for (non-food &) apple & grape juices and recommend "For
fresh preserving, follow a tested preserving recipe such as those found in
the Ball Blue BookŪ Guide to Preserving and BallŪ Complete Book of Home
Preserving."

I didn't research much further as we have talked this over before, but I
thought it was interesting that cases are now in the marketplace. And we've
thought they'd be just dandy for pickles. You know where my heart lies.

Just a little less, mind you. I need some beef jerky time.

New to your commissary? Fleet Farm has carried them for several years
-- maybe 10?

>They usually buy the Ball brand.

Of all jars? Uffda. Are these Ball? Mine might say Kerr.
Ball's more expensive here. What're you paying for your case of 6
half-gallon jars? I'm thinking they're maybe $10-12 for a case of 6
here.

Better a vinegar tart than a radio hussy! I had a (short) letter to the
editor printed once.
I'm still a newbie after all these years and live in the upbackwoods of a
military installation. We're late to get a lot of stuff and not too many
farmers up here on the mesa.

*Chile* peppers. Humph. I am lustful after all y'all berries n' things tho.
Last time we were in that area a few years ago, all along the highway were
picking farms & the like. Our trip was too long for me to stop & get fruit,
tho. I grieved. He got his motorcycle tho.

I'm of the old school, Miz Edrena. I learned that chili is a pepper and
Chile is a country.

Everything evens out, no?
