of the top 10 Safest large cities, most have a huge hispanic population.
1. San Jose, CA - huge Mexican population 2. El Paso, TX - 80% of the residents are Mexican! 3. Honolulu, HI 4. New York, NY 5. Austin, TX - huge Mexican population 6. San Diego, CA - huge Mexican population 7. Louisville, KY 8. San Antonio, TX - 60% of the residents are Mexican! 9. Fort Worth, TX - huge Mexican population 10. Jacksonville, FL this confirms what people have observed, Mexicans just aren't into crime, especially undocumented guest workers --- the evidence is just too clear, statistically, most large cities do not have high Mexican populations, apparently just the ones with low crime do! MORAL: If you want you city to be one of the lowest crime cities in America, encourage undocumented Mexicans to come to your city, WELCOME our friends from the south! |

What does this have to do with Mexican-Food? I would think that 80% of the residents of El Paso may be Hispanic and at least 80% of them are US Residents and not Mexican. Tucson is highly Hispanic go look at our statistics... your theory has some holes in it... http://tucson.areaconnect.com/crime1.htm |

Just because it lays on the border of Mexico? Nogales is very diverse and there is a large anglo population also. Crime is a problem in every American City large or small. Mexican immigration may or may not have a factor on local crime. If you want racial profiling then you may want to look at prison populations to consider in your theory. I think the point you were trying to make was that towns with large Mexican populations have lower crime. I say your local crime statistics have more to do with community envolvement and crime prevention than the presence of Mexicans. Tucson, a town rich in Mexican history and culture, has the highest percentage of automobile thefts in the country. Phoenix is a close second. Facts are that a large number of our automobiles stollen in this country are heading to Mexico. Does that mean that all Mexicans are responsible? Hell no. We don't know who is stealling our cars but being so close to a country that does not cooperate on returning stolen goods doesn't give us a warm fuzzy feeling. Facts are that in most small towns... US or Mexico your car should be safe... you have a very unlikely chance of getting assaulted and you should not be effected by crime. But according to your last statistic about Nogales a small sleepy low crime community of 21,000, Auto Theft is still more than twice the rate of New York City. I still say your theory has major holes in it. |
