Empanadas de Camarones

Ingredientes:
2 tazas de harina de maiz amarilla
2 tazas de agua
Sal
500 gramos de camarones
2 tomates maduros
1 cebolla mediana
4 ajies dulces
6 dientes de ajo
Cilantro
Agua
Sal

Preparacion:
Se hace la masa para empanadas uniendo la harina de ma?z con el agua y
el punto de sal, aproximadamente 1 cucharadita colmada, dejar reposar
y amasar bien por lo menos 5 minutos.

Aparte se hace el guiso de camarones sofriendo la cebolla, agregando
el tomate, los ajies y cocinar hasta que este bien dorado, agregar los
camarones picados y el ajo, cocinar por espacio de unos 5 minutos y
por ultimo agregar el cilantro y rectificar la sal.

Hacer las empanadas de la forma tradicional y freirlas en abundante
aceite.



Relleno empanadas de camarones picantes

600 grams de camarones troceados
4 dientes de ajos triturados
? taza de pure de tomate
1 aji picante picado
2 cucharadas de aceite vegetal
Adobo al gusto

Saltee el ajo en aceite caliente e inmediatamente agregue los
camarones.

Anada el pure de tomate, el aji picante y el adobo, mezcle bien. Cueza
a fuego moderado por 10 minutos. Si desea la salsa mas liquida agregue
2 o 3 cucharadas de agua.

Finalmente prepare la masa para sus empanadas doraditas, y frialas en
aceite.

Thanks. I have one question; what is "Adobo al gusto?" I am not
familiar with that.

"Al gusto" means "to your pleasure", i.e., use as much adobo sauce as
you like.

Adobo is a sauce or marinade used in Latin American- and Southwest
U.S.-style cooking, made of finely chopped or pureed chiles, garlic,
vinegar, and often onions and tomatoes. Food that has been prepared
with adobo is sometimes called adobado.

Adobo is colored bright red in Yucatan and Oaxaca by the use of annato
(achiote) seeds.

I don't particularly care for the vinegary taste of adobo marinade.
