When relatives come to visit in the summer, I make a big deal about
ice cream. That's the short story. Over time, I have been searching for appropriate fountain dishes and glasses. This year I found some cute bowls and nearly cry for happy when I found traditional ice cream float glasses to use for ice cream sodas (the fountain glasses with the metal base and coke-glass inserts). I bought one of those kits with the freezer stone for mix-ins. Strangely I've never sought out an ice cream scoop though. At Crate and Barrel a couple of weeks ago I ran across a colorful Zyliss ice cream scoop and bought it. When I tried it at home, I fell in love. It made the most beautiful round ice cream balls and was so easy to use, well-balanced. I found myself eating more ice cream just so I could use the scoop. And then... I went back last week intending to buy just one more, but I couldn't make up my mind which color. So I bought... one of each. It's a good thing they only had four colors. http://tinyurl.com/h77wa I know no one "needs" four ice cream scoops. But don't judge me- you have to hold one ...to use one ...in order to appreciate the intoxicating experience ;> Sue(tm) Lead me not into temptation... I can find it myself! |

And it is DISHWASHER SAFE!!! I was sort of pressed to buy some Pampered Chef from a co-worker and settled on the ice cream scoop. I needed one actually. Oh my god, what a POS. YOu can't put it into the dishwasher because it turns the aluminum into gray which rubs off on your hands. Tres annoying. I knew you weren't supposed to but my family forgets. The Crate and Barrel ones are very pretty ![]() Goomba, who has yet to find anything by Pampered Chef to cry for happy over. |

I've been making home made ice cream lately, and a good scoop would be nice. Now I'll have to run out and buy one or two of those. Have to..... hehe :-) Donna |

My Zeroll has the same problem. It must be hand-washed, but a quick wash in hot water is all it takes. No one uses it but me, so no problem putting it in the dishwasher accidentally. Otherwise, I love it and have had it for years. -- Wayne Boatwright @¿@¬ _____________________ |

I won't judge your scoops if you won't judge my whisks... ;-) I currently own 11 whisks. I am of the opinion that you cannot own too many whisks. I use them all, and I use at least one most every day. I love my whisks. I have balloon whisks and flat whisks and huge whisks and tiny whisks. I have a whisk small enough to whip cream in a shot glass. The next whisk I get will be a ball bearing whisk. kimberly |
