Not until later today. Thanks much for the heads up: I saw a newspaper
announcement, but had totally forgotten it. Ernie in Indy "barry in indy" > wrote in message y.com>... > 4026 E. 82nd Street (at Dean Road). > (317) 577-7778 > > Anyone been there yet? |

I drove about 2.5 hours to get to the new store in Jacksonville. Every product they sell is displayed with an open container that can be smelled, admired and if you wish to risk it tasted (the freeze dried shallots are amazingly good, and the Aleppo peppers...well now!) Don't worry about saving on shipping though, you will spend far more by being there than you would through a catalog. And don't stick you nose in the jar of chili Piquins and take a deep breath. pavane |

Seattle's just lived through the warmest and driest summer on record. It is sunny and 70 degrees out today. There are scads of spice-hungry foodies in this town anxiously awaiting a Penzey's at which to shop. We are at least as deserving as Indianapolis is. And I KNOW we're more deserving than Houston is of a Penzeys. We don't get 95 degree days with 95% humidity for 5 straight months. I don't think I'd go as far as an Uzi to get one here, but perhaps the Penzeysless Pugetopoloids should start an email campaign to persuade Bill Penzey to put a store hereabouts. Cindy -- C.J. Perhaps that is why I have taken up serious bread baking. I do have one thought for you, however. Biofournil is an organic baker in France(Brittany). They perfected this fantastic method for preparing par baked breads and sealing them(with some special chemical in package). It tastes really great. But, if you want the genuine article, they have one bakery now in the States. It is on Fourth Ave, almost to Seattle Center. They make brioche to die for. Their olive breads are great, too. They brought in an oven directly from France.
