OT - Sick Computer and MasterCook
Just wanted to let you guys know. I'm not sure how much longer I can
use my computer. My hard drive seems to be crumbling. Some things work, others don't. If we can't fix it, I'll be gone for at least a month. Once everything is either stabilized or repaired, I'll be asking people for any copies they have of my cookbook and my mom's. None of the others are critical. Currently, my recipes are all showing up individually, but doing anything with the "Carol" cookbook freezes MasterCook solid. Over and out (hopefully not for long), Carol |

I have received an e-mail from a trusted friend, recommending that I
install this patch: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../ms06-001.mspx Please consider installing it if you run Windows. Now I've just got to see how much damage has been done on my system. Carol |

I tried posting a few minutes ago, but the post hasn't shown up. If you're running Windows, consider installing the following patch: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sec.../ms06-001.mspx It's a serious, serious problem. I received this info in e-mail after my initial post. Thanks, mysterious stranger! Carol |

My computer crashed - again. Crash reformatted it - again. I need
people's e-mail addresses - again. I'm tearing out my hair - again. I need Mom's recipes, which I didn't find the last time around. Does anyone have that cookbook? I've got my own recipes taken care of. Thanks, Dora! Barb, I'm taking your advice and writing everything down. Thanks for the tip! I appreciate everyone's patience and willingness to help a Damsel in distress. Thank you very kindly! Carol |

There's no need to maintain written records of any computerized information if you do backups on a regular basis. |
