Default How to jazz up an hors d'ouevre

My mom always used to make almond-stuffed dates at the holidays. I just
stuffed my pitted dates with roasted almonds, but they need some
pizzazz. Any ideas what I could do to jazz them up? I was thinking
about maybe a tiny glob of cream cheese or goat cheese. No bacon, no
meats for our household please.
