Default early Xmas

We had our family dinner last night because daughter and BF are
visiting his grandfather in Solvang and we were going to visit friends
on Xmas eve anyway.

Beef was nixed at the very last moment and we ended up with a leg of
lamb. It was very simply prepared with a rub of lemon juice (and
peels), fresh garlic, fresh rosemary, salt, pepper and EVOO. It was a
rosemary, garlic and EVOO night because the new potatoes were
quartered and baked in it too. Instead of vegetables, we had a salad
of Spring Mix greens and were too full to eat dessert - which was
apple pie. I guess we'd eaten too much brie and roasted garlic (do
you see a theme?)

Daughter did the cooking, so I had cooks night off - although I
volunteered for clean up duty after imbibing copious amounts of
Cabernet.

All in all, a good time was had by all.... except hubby who is nursing
a bum knee and is literally bed ridden.

Oh, the downstairs freezer is dying - but that's another thread.
