What's with orange grated cheese? Ours is light yellow. Kathy in NZ |

wow..flashing back to all my childhood memories of "fancy" dinners. My
friends wonder why I learned how to cook to the level I have... this would be the reason. "Bubba" > wrote in message . .. > http://www.amalah.com/photos/the_com...ook/index.html > > > -- > You wanna measure or you wanna cook? |

Way back then, when we used to have the yearly Christmas Office party
for everybody who worked for us, it was always catered by Nelson's Kosher Deli, on Broadway near 170th Street. There were about fifteen office and management people and around one hundred factory employees. Spouses and children were welcome, as long as we knew how many were coming. Enough food had to be ordered and my father, the boss, liked to have presents for all the children, supposedly left with him by Santa Claus. The many trays were filled with Pastrami, Roast Beef, Corned Beef, Brisket, Salami, Tongue and Chopped Liver Sandwiches, on fresh Rye Bread, cut into quarters. There were the usual sides, potato salad, cole slaw and pickles. Only coffee and soft drinks were available and milk for the children. Trays of cookies came from a neighborhood bakery. Any left overs were claimed by the factory workers with seniority and the foreman, forelady and shop steward. For some reason, the office workers never got any of the left overs. I hate to think of how much such a party would cost today. |

I just wanna compare the OXO peeler and the plastic peeler that's all.
The black handle with fins on it make someone feel more comfortable when using the peeler right? Apart from comfort what else? Bubba wrote: > http://www.amalah.com/photos/the_com...ook/index.html > > > -- > You wanna measure or you wanna cook? |

Apart from comfort what else? Yes, much more comfortable than others, and you get a better grip, with less chance of the handle slipping out of your hand. The blades are sharper than most others that I've had, too. And they swivel to navigate curves in the potatoes that you're peeling. They're not very costly. Why not do a side-by-side comparison?
