Pandora,

Stop appologizing. I and others (it's probably safe to say) only wish we
had the capacity to speak Italian as well you speak English.

True. But I still reserve the right to tease her when something comes
out funny-- especially in a thread that started out funny and
lighthearted. And I promise to take it in good fun when I get teased in
return.

Whether this was about a ghost or a guest, thank you for the cute
story in pictures about the disappearance of the Pasta and Asparagus dish.

My fist cat, Tawny, loved asparagus. The veterinarian said that it is
not uncommon, as the odor attracts cats to this vegetable.

I didn't know! Perhaps is this that attracted my Jolly. Or the "feet smell"
of fontina cheese that was inside .......))))

I'd always wondered about that. Bert Greene, in his _Greene on Greens_
cookbook has a story about his cat Dinah "whose only real character flaw
is an uncontrollable urge for asparagus." He had the asparagus for a
dinner party peeled and blanched on the counter as he made the rest of
the dinner. He was going to serve it with hollandaise except he
discovered that Dinah had eaten the green tips. He saved the day by
putting the asparagus into the blender to make soup.

I'm such a dog person that I never wondered what it was about cats and
asparagus, but it looks like it isn't just a random preference.

Looks delicious. I've found the best arbiters of taste tend to be cats.
If a cat will eat it, it's pretty much fit for human consumption.

When I had cats they used to eat moles. They would bring them to the front
step and eat everything but the stomach. Moles may be fit for human
consumption, but I'll take a pass thanks.
