I can actually remember when I had my tonsils removed (also at age 6).
Macaroni and cheese. Spaghetti (no meat, just a mild tomato sauce, with the
spaghetti cut up). Be careful if you fee him mashed potatoes that are too
hot; he might sue you Won't take long for him to be back to eating
normally, whatever normal is for him.

Smoothies--fruit with yogurt and maybe even protein powder.

After two days I'm surprised he's not eating and feeling better already.

I had my tonsils removed at about ten months so I don't remember...
probably just continued on breast milk.

I'm sure that by now you've been advised of all the baby foods... I'd
offer him a cold brewski... whut!

Sheldon (been guzzing suds since before age two, very foist woids "more
beer"... and I'm normal)

The only thing I can remember is eating ice cream in the hospital and
jello at home... that said try smoothies, macaroni & cheese, mashed
potatoes, soup. Look up the thread on oral surgery - I bet you'll
find lots more ideas there.

It takes a week for that sore throat to go away... I was 11 when mine
were taken out, so I remember.

I had mine out at 25. Had a few complications. First, out of recovery my
ex gave me a paperback "Truly Tasteless Jokes" by Blanche Knott. Next I
started eating not so soft food and tore the tissue and had to go to
emergency where, with a hemostat, they proceeded to pull a "strand" of
blood about a foot out of my mouth. They cauterized it and sent me home.

Keep it cool and smooth, from my experience. OH, and DON'T laugh!!!
