I hope you're right - I really do, but the headers look OK to me. Who
knows? I'm sorry I managed to get him so riled up, but it's too late
to worry about it now - I let it go, but it's apparently going to be
difficult for him.

You didn't get him riled up. Chung did. This was just spill-over
rage. He'll get over it.

Well, I think it was me being stupid enough to get involved in the
crossposting that caused the whole problem in the first place.
I gotta quit doing that.

I just don't get it. I do not and will never understand why anyone on
r.f.c. makes allowances for Sheldon or thinks he has even one remotely
redeeming quality that can justify this type of behavior towards other
people.

Albeit under other nom de plume, I have been posting on r.f.c. since
Feburary, 1996, and have been reading the group even longer. Sheldon's
behavior, except perhaps to worsen, has not changed one bit since the first
day I read posts here.

Whatever food-related knowledge he does or does not have (I find much of it
suspicious and debatable), there is nothing he could contribute that could
possibly justfiy his vicious and vile behavior. I have never, in my sixty
years, heard anyone use such vile and filthy language or make such vehement
attacks. If he did this in a public place, he could easily be arrested and
jailed for such behavior.

Why r.f.c.'ers continue to allow (through supportive statements) Sheldon's
behavior is a complete mystery, yet let anyone else get remotely out of
line and the whole group is ready to tear them apart.

As I said, I just don't get it and I guess I never will, but Sheldon would
be best ignored by everyone here.

Right. Crossposting annoys everyone. I wish Pastorio and Chung would
both drop off the face of the planet when they crosspost. I hadn't
actually seen you do it but at least you admit your mistake. Now go
stand in the corner as penance, lol.

Carol,

What does it matter what got him riled up or whether or not he'll get over
it. There is nothing on earth that excuses this man's behavior, absolutely
nothing! He is crude, vile, and vicious, and he takes great pleasure in
it. I'm sure he's also taking great pleasure in this continued string of
comments.

You're being penny wise and pound foolish! I flag the threads I want
to watch (the pair of glasses) or lock them (the padlock) for those
days I'm too pressed for time. It sounds like you need to use the
padlock and delete all the other posts right now. It takes 5 seconds
to do and you won't have to wait while Agent sifts through 150,000 old
posts, just to get to the past 2 days - when you decide to
resubscribe.

> The volume in RFC is just too high.

It's not that bad, if you know how to use your alt & ctrl buttons to
select and deltete posts.

> And then there's Chung.
>

He doesn't hide, so it's easy enough to select his posts and hit the
delete button w/o reading any. You could even set up a filter for him
if he bothers you that much. Frankly, I don't have ONE SINGLE filter
set up because I'm not tempted to read posts I know will annoy me...
like Chung's. However, if we're ever bombed (which happened a few
years ago) - I have my filtering capability ready to go.

My best to Crash and you - it's a long row to hoe. The same thing
happened to a friend of mine a few years ago. She went to the doctor
thinking it was arthritis and found out her hip bone was dying.

Upgrade your version of Agent! Even the newest FA will warn you when
you are about to crosspost.... I just let Agent v2 go Free because the
only feature I used besides the newsreader was spellcheck.

It matters to Gator. He was thinking that he somehow caused the wrath
that's occured in this thread. I was trying to reassure him that it
was just Sheldon, going insane.

Anyway, this thread is no longer serving its intended purpose, so this
is the last you'll see of me here.

I watched him change in rfc from a very nice and helpful guy (just
plain Penmart - no 10) into someone who would be considered dangerous
behind a steering wheel.

I still know the "other" Sheldon and he is my friend.

I agree with Goomba38 when he says: I wish Pastorio and Chung would
both drop off the face of the planet when they crosspost.

I agree. I have nothing against Christians and their good intentions,
but keep it to the right NG. I can understand why Sheldon lost it, in a
way....

Then you might suggest to your "friend" that his behavior here is totally
unacceptable.

I don't need Agent to do that. Sheldon is in my score file in Xnews, which
permanent prevents any of his originating posts, or posts with his name in
the subject, from ever appearing in my list of posts. The only time I happen
to see something that he writes is when it's contained in quoted text in
someone else's post.

I have Xnews here on the machine, but I've not found it to be quite as
friendly as Agent - probably just due to a lack of time spent with it.
It doesn't seem to be well-suited to permanent archiving to me - but I
think I'll give it another shot.

Xnews takes some time to get it working the way you want. Not sure what you
mean by "permanent archiving".

I want a big spike that can go into the car in front of me, lift it,
move it to the side of the road, and drop it there. Barring that, I
think Rich's idea of a huge bright light that you can shine on them
(much brighter than the brights on a car) would work nicely too.

Regards,
Ranee (who hates people who slow down in the fast lane, don't signal,
swerve in and out of lanes, won't slow down or speed up so you can
merge, speed up so you can't pass them, but then slow down when you are
behind them...)

Oh, you'd be wrong about that :-)

No one can imitate Sheldon (and several have tried, the imposters are simple
to spot).

Sheldon's maledictions may be lacerating at times but I prefer them for

I've had sea cucumber at Chinese restos, it's nothing special, just kind of
gelatinous.

At least it's not one of those "tastes like chicken" thangs, it tastes,
well, just like nothing particular at all...

Are sea cucumbers not ambi - sexual creatures, I wonder...???
