It sounds as if he will be going gently into that dark night if he eats all
that

A trip to Mackinac Island transports you to a simpler time, say, around the
turn of the 20th century. The Grand Hotel, largest hotel on the island,
opened in the 1870s. It operates in much the same manner now as when it
first opened. There are other hotels there of similar vintage. No
motorized vehicles are allowed on the island. Transporatation is only by
horse drawn carriages and bicycles. A sense of oppulence and luxury
abounds almost everywhere. For those not hotel-inclined, there are some
wonderful privately run bed and breakfasts. On the whole, food on the
island is far better than at many other resort areas in the US. At least
at the Grand Hotel, dressing for dinner is stll de rigeur. A stay on
Mackinac Island is truly an escape from today's harsh reality! A Google
search yields some very descriptive sites and is interesting reading.

Yes, one really needs to be careful with this stuff! Ryba's is one of the
major producers of Mackinac Island fudge and has temporary kiosks at venues
across the US such as home and flower shows, some state fairs, etc. I had
eaten some of this fudge throughout my youth when we made annual trips to
the island, my mother wisely controlling my consumption. Then, in my late
twenties, after a long absence from the island, I came across one of Ryba's
kiosks at the Cleveland Home and Flower show. I took home a pound each of
maple walnut and chocolate walnut fudge. In the span of an afternoon and
evening I managed to consume the entire lot of the maple walnut and a
portion of the chocolate walnut. I was terribly sick for over a week!

Probably best not to start on the fudge. You won't want to quit!

Come on up and get Married. I'm sure you realize *** marrages are legal
up here. I myself haven't looked into it, but there are several
provinces that you can get legaly married in right now (I believe Nova
Scotia) and soon anywhere in Canada. It would just take several phone
calls.

Actually, we're quite happy with our church ceremony, and we already have
very well written wills. The major benefit of legal recognition would be
taxes and insurance.

That's kinda how I do business, too. I got a second confirmation of my
order from http://store.mackinaclightkeeper.com/fudge.html this morning.
I'm thinking that their customer service will be excellent. Priority
Shipping. If it goes out tomorrow, we should receive our fudge by
Wednesday or Thursday, I'm thinking.

Yup, that's all it was. Appeared to me that you were taking being caught out
in UL pretty personally, and that my tasteless (or at least that's what they
say!) jelly jape got short shrift in response.

I didn't think you were being an asshole. I just wanted you to lighten up.
