About ten years ago, we had an ex-governor do a half gainer with a full twist
off his roof and onto the yard by accident. He didn´t make it.
He was a year less old than I am now. You couldn´t get me on a roof with a
cattle prod.
I hope Sheldon is OK, and I doubt he was on the roof.

It was more than 15 years ago that I had a fall off a ladder. I was
cleaning the eaves trough. I was at the front corner where there is an
overhang. I used to climb up the ladder and get in the overhang and
could reach the eaves on the second story from there. I had the ladder
at what I thought was an appropriate angle. I was just about to get into
the overhang when the ladder kicked out. I went down. One leg slipped
between two rungs, and when I hit the ground my other leg landed on the
ladder shoving it back into the shin of the one that was between the rungs.

I was in some serious pain. I thought I had broken my shin bone. I went
to the ER and had to wait about 4 hours. As it turned out, nothing was
broken. I got some pain meds. Shortly after than I bought some good
quality gutter guards so I won't ever again have to climb up there to
clean gutters.

I pay someone to clean the gutters. You won't find me climbing a ladder
for anything. Vertigo.

With age one's sense of balance deteriorates and whereas I used to feel
OK walking over the roof to clean gutters etc., I now pay someone to do
it. It's usually the window cleaner and, ironically, he's in his 70s.

Some people are better at it than others. I would never climb onto a
roof. I experience vertigo if I have to look UP to clean something.
Like the ceiling fans in the house. I have an extension wand duster but
I have a hard time with balance if I have to look up while doing so.

The person I hire to do yard work cleans the gutters for me when I ask
him to. He mostly uses a leaf blower. He's younger than I am (yet has
grandchildren).

As far as cleaning the glass patio doors and such, they're a bit taller
than I am. I have an extension wand with Windex cleaning pads and a
hose for rinsing. For the really high windows which are for nothing but
show in the living room, I don't bother washing them at all. The rain
takes care of getting rid of the pollen and such. It's not as if I
spend a great deal of time looking at windows that are 25 feet up and
worrying about whether or not they are sparkling clean.

LOL!

When I first moved in here my mother asked me if there's a
squeegie/sponge thing in the garage. (The kind you see at gas stations
for washing your windshield.) Yes, I saw one hanging on the tool rack.
Would you bring it to me? Sure! She proceeded to hand me a bottle of
Windex and told me to go outside and clean the windows!

Problem is, the regular windows in this house are crank-style. The
window-screens cannot be removed due to the alarm system sensors. So
you cannot *easily* wash the *inside* of the windows, you have to crank
them open and go outside to clean the inside glass. Maybe you could
take care of that for me. I'll do like my mom did, stand inside and
point out the spots you might have missed.

Oh, yeah? You'll have to fight Bruce and John first in a caged
deathmatch first (Bruce's favorite sport).

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2021-03-...usive/13261698

And then my ex-wife when she gets out of prison again for that
parole violation.

And then you'll have to ask Jill what happens next.

Evidently, you never took "ladder safety 101"
On grass, flip up the flat feet and dig your ladder ends into the ground
for a secure footing.

On concrete, use the flat ladder ends but have someone "foot" the ladder
for you. An ounce of precaution...
