It's pretty safe around here but there has been an increase in thefts during the pandemic. The other night the doorbell rang about 9 pm. I went down to answer but my wife was already there. It was some scruffy looking guy who immediately said he must have the wrong house. Megatron asked who he was looking for and he said he was told to pick up a woman at (our address). Megatron asked her name. Oh just someone he was asked to pick up. I went out and the guy is turned sideways looking at his phone. He looked up at me and said he had the wrong house and I said "Yeah, you got one where there was someone at home". He scurried off and hopped into the passenger side of a car and they took off in a hurry. I figure people are less likely to try to rip you off if they know there is a cam, and the cam has a motion sensor so it starts recording before they ring the bell. |
