You can get a Miele for $1K. It'd most likely outlive you.

That dishwasher was just the most expensive one I could find. I'm
not that stupid.

Some folks might think that spending $1000 on a dishwasher when
we'll only be here 5 more years is foolish, but I hate the whole
disposable everything paradigm. If I'd have bought a Speed Queen
washer when we first bought this house, I wouldn't be on my third
clothes washer.

Apparently Gary thought you were. I saw him mention it in... was it the
tri-tip reuben thread or elsewhere in this one? LOL He pretty much
called you stupid and thought you were going to by that one and pay that
price. I got it.

I took Steve for his word on buying that dishwasher. Why not? People do
buy those and Steve always likes to win. Why not buy the best dishwasher
in the universe like Sheldon. lol

For all you know, he was serious and now is backsliding and calling it a
joke.

I took it as quite clearly a joke by Steve. The cost equivalent as
measured in Reuben sandwiches would be astronomical, so no go.

For all I know?! I can usually tell when Steve is joking. The key
phrase in the post after the price and before the link was "How much do
you want to donate?"

Bryan fell for it too. Don't feel too bad.

Our Samsung was way less and it sends me a push notification when it's
done - like I care.Â* It is completely silent and pops it's door open to
let the steam out.

Our house came with GE appliances. We did upgrade models but the model
we have is $900. Last one I bought was a KitchenAid for about $1100.

Given the choice, the KA I found to be a tad easier to load but both do
an excellent job of cleaning dishes. You will also note the cycle times
are longer on new ones for energy efficiency. Most times I start it
either right after breakfast or well after dinner and it does not get
emptied til morning.

My house came with a Gas Meter too, but I had that ****er removed after I got all electric everything and was still being charged a $20 Connection Fee!

**** Fossil Fuels! And $20 Connection Fees to use them!

When we converted from propane to natural gas, we changed out our
electric water heater and electric stove for gas appliances.

Your dishwasher BURNS Natural GAS, whereas John PRODUCES more natural
gas than he consumes, and it is SUSTAINABLY MADE from his VSTD beans!!

Neodome, that's the right sentiment but sadly I suspect Bryan is
lacking an effective psychotropic.

That's because you are stupid. Gas appliances are cheaper to run than all
electric. But yet you are Rich! Rich!! Rich!!! so it doesn't matter.

I've always had gas heat and a gas water heater here. About 10 years ago
I converted from an electric flat top stove to a gas range. Love the quick
response and instant temperature adjustment of gas over an electric range.
I really appreciated that gas range March 2020 when the tornado tore through
Nashville. At least fresh vegetables and canned goods could be cooked; that
would have been impossible with an electric stove since there was no electricity
for 5 days.

What John did was get rid of a really nice way of cooking. A gas stove.
Not that he actually cooks anything other than that VSTD palaver, but
still. He ripped out a perfectly good gas stove, had the pipe capped
off and the meter turned off. He converted everything to electric.
He's talking about being charged for the Gas Meter connection. I don't
think he understands he's now being charged for the Electric Meter
connection.

I wonder if he ever looks at his electric bill? Electricity isn't free.
And gee, it comes from Fossil Fuels. He's an amazing hypocrite.

If you sniff her ass hard enough druce, you can suck her colon out
and she will shut up.

But then you'll have to clean all that shit off your face.

You're used to that.

Yes, an absolute fool. Cooking on gas is a thousand times better than
any electric alternative.

Oh yes. Unfortunately John just can't see his hypocrisy on so many
things. I'm not even 100% sure he is sincere in his concern for the
environment, his priority appears to more towards self-aggrandizement
and showing off to other people.

Funny you should mention that. I just got my new electric bill and I
itemized it all. (just curious)

Basic charge per month...just connection fees and taxes was $20. You pay
that each month regardless of how much power you use.

Then is the actual charge for electricity used.
My bill was for $30.09.

So, my actual fee for electricity used was only about $10 last month.
It's nuclear generated.

For $10 a month or a bit mo
- refridgerator running 24/7
- tv on most of the day
- desktop computer on 24/7
- answering machine on 24/7
- small fan running 24/7
- Kitchen and bedroom lights 24/7

Those are the constant uses. Add the occasional lights that go on and
off, microwave, furnace fan when heat is on, laptop computers on, etc etc.

Bottom line - no complaints about my electic bills.

(snippage)

Yet he's crowing about having disconnected the gas line to the stove and
the gas meter and instead went all electric... as if he's somehow not
being charged a connection fee for electricity. It's not beaming into
his house from outer space. There's a meter and they read it.
