Default Covid death

I found out today that I guy I'd worked with for a few years died of
Covid last month. He was only 43 years old.

Sorry to hear that. Sadly, there are people who just don't take this
virus seriously. I only know one person who died of it and that wasa
early in the pandemic. My wife knew several people who died of it, all
retired teachers who were living in retirement homes.

People around here are starting to get ****ed off with the situation. We
had been in lock down last spring. Things started to loosen up, and new
infections remained in Niagara were down to 35-40 but in the fall the
numbers of infections started rising. It got up to about 150 and then we
went back into lockdown on Boxing Day, followed by a Stay At Home order
There was some residual infections over the next couple weeks and then
the rates started to drop. Over the last two weeks they plummeted down
to 20-25, then 14 for a couple days and yesterday we had only three.

Toronto and adjacent regions remained in lock down while the rest of the
province had some restrictions lifted, but Niagara remains in lock down.
People are ****ed because one of the reasons given for the
continuation of the lock down is that if we open up people from the
Toronto area will drive down here to chop and to dine. It is like being
back in school and getting a class detention because someone was
misbehaving.

That's a fact. Therefore, it's not true according to deplorables.
Facts are never true. Besides, the Führer said covid was only a little
flu. People don't die from it.

Yes. Let's blame 'deplorables' for this and anything else you can
think of.

https://www.e-ir.info/2020/07/23/hor...-and-covid-19/
Perhaps the most interesting effect of the pandemic on politics can be
seen on the far-right and far-left. In general, these are thought to
occupy different parts of the political spectrum, yet there are
similarities in the policies of these two views including the period
of Covid-19. The horseshoe theory indicates that the far-right and
far-left policies indeed share a number of beliefs. According to this
theory, the political spectrum looks like a horseshoe rather than a
straight line. The farthest points are the far-left and far-right, and
they are bending toward each other. The shape of horseshoe represents
common features of two previously distinctive and opposed views

My niece who lives just south of Los Angeles does not think it is a
hoax. She has lost four friends to it.

<deplorable>
They didn't really die of covid. They died of other causes. The doctor
just reported it as a covid death so the hospital gets more money.

No. This guy hasn't worked there for about 3 years. If one of

I wouldn't but I'd just nod and move on.

Came out a bit ago that all Federal workers have to be masked now. For
those working for Military, that was mandated at the start, even in
states that didn't require it.

The odds of fatality in that age group is less than one in a thousand.
Did he have a pre-existing condition?

The important point, downplayed by the Chicken Little authorities, is
that the vulnerable population has to recognize their vulnerability.
For everyone else, it's no worse than flu.

I don't know. I do know he had a messed up foot from an accident.
He was a really big guy, tall and stout, but not particularly fat.
I found out that another guy who used to work there died of it too.
He wasn't old either.

<deplorable>
They died of other causes. The doctor only said they died of covid to
get more money for the hospital. Also, they didn't have blood type O-.
And they had connections with the basement of a pizzeria in New York,
where the Clintons rented a room for their satanic, Marxist practices.

One in a thousand of what base?

>Did he have a pre-existing condition?

The older one gets, the more likely one is to have at least one
underlying condition...just a fact of life, honey. Ageing kills.

Except Covid is 3.5 times as deadly as flu.

You're missing the point, that many young previously-well covid
patients (no known pre-existing condition, so no reason to suspect
vulnerability) suffer far worse than flu.

In UK, we have a national system of health care records (including
hospital admissions) and death records. So its relatively simple to
note which patient groups are more or less vulnerable (by previous
history) and track their outcomes.

What's becoming apparent, is that many young or middle aged healthy
people with no known pre-existing medical conditions suggesting
"vulnerability" , become very seriously ill from covid. Either dying of
it, or permanent organ damage. The term "long covid" refers to survivors
who have not made a complete recovery from the neurological and organ
damage of covid infection, and perhaps never will.
