A lot of the curriculum was the same, but there were also major differences. My elementary school started teaching French in Gr.7 but when I got to my new high school they did not start French until Gr.9. Another difference was in music. I had taken instrumental music at my old school. It was not available at the nearest high school, so I had to bus it downtown to the school where they did teach it. As it turned out, I was so far behind my new class mates there was no way I could catch up. I dropped music and went back to the school near home and took art instead. |
