Horses break all the time. My son took lessons at a school on the next
road south of us. They were doing okay until they got a load of wood
shavings contaminated with black walnut. They lost all their horses.

A number of years later I was taking lessons at another stable. A young
woman had a nice horse that she had bought for peanuts at the race track
at the end of the season. The horse was doing well in hunter jumper
shows and someone offered her $20,000. She was tempted but figured
that if they would offer that much she should ask for $30,000. No sale.
Less than a weak later I was at the stables and her horse started
freaking out. He was getting worse and worse. It was colic. They called
a vet. He could have been shipped to a veterinary college for a surgery
that would cost at least $10,000 but he probably would not survive the
trip there. They put hims down within an hour.

Wow.Â* I just spent that same amount for 5.2 acres in a private
community.Â* There's a .2 acre pond on the property and access to a lodge
with an on-site restaurant, horse stables, 4000 acre hunting area, skeet
and trap, rifle and pistol range, private airport, gym, outdoor heated
pool, etc.Â* It is in a remote part of FL but will make a nice getaway
when the house is built.
