well, she tells me she's alive because of me and

Well, wehn I was 13 and John was 15, we were 'delayed devopment
cooking' still so Mom, who didn't work outside the house didn't taking
us grocery shopping. We figured out eventually.

She 'fliped houses' as they call it now, for a living. WE got by better
than most with it.

where American couples make a career of buying older houses, doing
them up and selling them for a profit. I believe that's called

Because she would never tell me exactly what it was that she thought I
said - given the way she posts, I assume it was not a post from me. I
know she disapproves of people hitting on Julie, only time I did was
when Julie spouted about the health care 'a Canadian friend' of hers
received in New Brunswick. It was grossly incorrect and I corrected
it. Even Kuthe, I rarely bother to read his posts but do like to
remind him he uses coal fired power when he over brags.

Correct. Sorry, was typo challanged that day. The TV show has pretty
crappy 'fast' work done but eye candy.

The fastest was a house bought in about Sept and sold in early April.
We didn't do more much more than put in 4,000 flower bulbs and sold in
spring. Netted 9K over costs. Good money in the early 1970's. Call
it 60K in todays needs in 6 months.

The longest also had the most challanges and are tied with 2 of them.

1) Very old house, 1880 or so. 2 story. Real old oak floors and a
central hall with stairs to the upper floor. Stairs were a mess and I
learned about 'stringers' and making stairs. The 'under stairs' area
was outfitted as a very tiny servents place which we thought charming
of the times. We kids used it as a sort of indoor fort for play. 2
years later, sold for 40K profit after what we spent in materials and
fees.

2) Fairly new house, basement over 1 floor house. Basement unfinished.
Stairs problematic due to rotting. Cause, basement not watersealed
properly. Fixed water seal, stairs, rewallpapered some truely FUGLY
stuff a drunk must have selected, floors and finished 1800 sq feet of
basement. sold, 80K profit after what we spent in materials and fees 3
years later (1975).

Lots of other but while we were not 'rich' by any means, we did well.

Correct. Sorry, was typo challanged that day. The TV show has pretty
crappy 'fast' work done but eye candy.

The fastest was a house bought in about Sept and sold in early April.
We didn't do more much more than put in 4,000 flower bulbs and sold in
spring. Netted 9K over costs. Good money in the early 1970's. Call
it 60K in todays needs in 6 months.

The longest also had the most challanges and are tied with 2 of them.

1) Very old house, 1880 or so. 2 story. Real old oak floors and a
central hall with stairs to the upper floor. Stairs were a mess and I
learned about 'stringers' and making stairs. The 'under stairs' area
was outfitted as a very tiny servents place which we thought charming
of the times. We kids used it as a sort of indoor fort for play. 2
years later, sold for 40K profit after what we spent in materials and
fees.

2) Fairly new house, basement over 1 floor house. Basement unfinished.
Stairs problematic due to rotting. Cause, basement not watersealed
properly. Fixed water seal, stairs, rewallpapered some truely FUGLY
stuff a drunk must have selected, floors and finished 1800 sq feet of
basement. sold, 80K profit after what we spent in materials and fees 3
years later (1975).

Lots of other but while we were not 'rich' by any means, we did well.
