I'm not sure I agree with all of them. I'm from KS and never once had ribs.
But I'm not from KS city.

In Wichita, this was common and it looks like it still is.

Fried chicken was pretty common too. As was a restaurant called Spears. They
make a garlic slaw that has become popular in other places.

Salmon doesn't get a sweet bark on it just by smoking it.

And those aren't chimichangas.

I stopped scrolling there.

The Key lime pie was pictured with a slice of Persian lime. The guy who made
that page should be kicked hard in the crotch.

Thank goodness they picked the pasty for Michigan, rather than the coney dog.

But they showed it with ketchup, leaving us gravy partisans out in the cold.

Gravy never crossed my mind, but ketchup on a meat filled pastry is wrong.
Very, very wrong. I know I'd want the same red salsa I have on Mexican food.

The ketchup vs. gravy controversy is a lively one in the U.P. Thousands of Yoopers
prefer ketchup.

Last summer, my son put ketchup on a bratwurst. I thought I'd raised him better
than that.

If there were no gravy available, I probably would prefer sriracha to ketchup
on a pasty.

No gravy, no ketchup, just more beer to wash it down. Think, people!

much ketchup and gravy has been shed in that war with no
signs of abatement.

prefer them plain if the filling is good

Raise him properly and he won't eat bratwurst.

Not sure that's as bad as a steak with either A-1 or Heinz sauce on it.

I wouldn't put A1 on a real Delmonico steak, but on Jill's faux Delmonico, maybe.

When I was a kid, my mom always bought thin steaks and cooked them to
well done. My father's choice as he had a fear of food poisoning.

They were like chewing on shoe leather so I drenched my steaks in A-1
sauce. lol

I never use steak sauce now (thicker medium-rare steaks) but I did try a
much better sauce years later. Lee&Perrins steak sauce is pretty good.
