Default Torrone vs. divinity - what's the difference?

Here in New England, you don't see anything called "divinity."

(I can't find rocky road candy under glass either - or pre-packaged, for that matter - but that's another story.)

But it's easy enough to find hard or soft white almond torrone, even if you can't find most of the other varieties of that candy - such as those made from marzipan, alcoholic, candied fruit, etc.

So, since both that and divinity are supposed to be nougat, what's the difference, since they seem to look pretty similar in photos? Thanks.

(For anyone who doesn't know, white nougat is NOT the same as those little semi-chewy dry meringues sold by the dozens in biggish round transparent containers. I would much rather have the big wet fluffy fancy meringues that are not at all chewy, sold under glass - but I've never seen those in the US.)
