Cow racist often? ;) If you do happen to run one over, keep this in mind. It was an accident and "if you kill it, you should eat it." Don't have it die for nothing. Just go out and buy a chest freezer, butcher the accidental kill and have hamburgers and steaks for over a year or two. :-D |

I came close enough to hitting a big bay horse on a very dark night. I was on a curvy tree lined country lane and not going very fast because I was going to take a turn. All of a sudden the horse was standing right in front of the car. I went to the nearest house to report it in case it was their horse or maybe they would know whose it was. The woman who answered the door was very nice, though expect she would have been ware of someone coming to their door at that time of night talking about a horse on the road. She had no idea whose horse it might have been. > If you do happen to run one over, keep this in mind. If you hit a horse or a cow on the road you might not feel like butchering it on the spot. There won't be enough left of your car to carry it home. Even deer can do a number on a car. I know three people who totalled cars hitting deer, and most whitetails around here are under 200 lb. |

You can drive the speed limit and still annoy people. lol Another one is that I always slow down a bit to look before entering an intersection even if I have the right of way. That always annoys someone behind me hoping to beat the light or whatever. I've seen many people run red lights or ignore stop signs. A few times, lucky that I hesitated or I would been "dead right." That's what voice mail is for. No text necessary. Note: you could have turned off your phone while visiting your mom. Disturbingly, MY mom did that to me on Sunday while we were in the middle of our weekly talk. She heard a beep, indicating someone trying to call her. She couldn't let it go to voicemail for a few more minutes. She JUST had to hang up to check. Very rude, imo. I told her don't bother calling back. I'll talk to you next week. Again, I had a flip phone for about 8 years and I NEVER interrupted a conversation to answer my phone. That's what voicemail was created for. |

I told her don't bother calling back. I'll > talk to you next week. I used to have a friend who loved to chat on the phone, something that I have never been all that keen on. He had call waiting and would leave me on hold while he picked up the other call. After it happened a few times I just hung up. The first time it happened he called back and said that we had been cut off. No, I hung up. That happened a few times. His other problem was his obnoxious bitch wife. They each had their own phone line. His was dedicated to his computer.... dial up days, so he would call on her line. She didn't like that and would often pick up her phone to see if he was using it and then give him shit for using her phone. He would ask her if she had to use the phone.... well I might.... I got fed up with that and told him so. He whined that he didn't have a light on their phone like I had on mine to indicate it was in use. One day he called to chat and assured me that his call waiting was disabled and his wife was out. She ended up coming home earlier than expected. He said she had just come it. Within seconds she picked up the phone and started giving him shit. My filter was off and something slipped out of my mouth. No profanity or anything like that. More like Christ, not again. I hung up. He called back a couple minutes later and told me his wife was furious at me and that I owed her an apology. Not in this life time. Problem solved. > > Again, I had a flip phone for about 8 years and I NEVER > interrupted a conversation to answer my phone. That's > what voicemail was created for. > |

Handy if you just want to give a message and don't need an acknowledgement. My daughter sent me a photo of something by text. I sent the name of a business previously discussed with a friend. When I was working, my wife would text me sometimes rather than interrupt with a call. Usually a simple one sentence comment. Could be as simple at "appointment changed from 2 to 3" I have a long time friend that I call every couple of weeks. I always text her first and tell her I'm going to call. That way the call is not an interruption but a welcome visit. I also never take another call while on the phone. I may look to see who it calling, but the person I'm talking to is my first priority. |
Merry Christmas (if you are on FB)
