Firstly, chicken nuggets are not meat... Secondly, we all hear about
clueless parents making poor dietary chooses for their kids, but I
think they're in a minority, or at least only certain demographics
anyway.

Maybe in dsi1's circles, dinner for children means a bucket of chicken
nuggets.

Australian McDonalds chicken nuggets:
"Chicken, Water, Flour (Wheat, Corn), Canola Oil, Starch (1420, 1422,
Corn, Wheat, Tapioca), Mineral Salts (450, 500, 451, 341, 327), Salt,
Spices (Celery, White Pepper, Black Pepper), Sunflower Oil, Dextrose."

American McDonalds Chicken nuggets:
White Boneless Chicken, Water, Vegetable Oil (Canola Oil, Corn Oil,
Soybean Oil, Hydrogenated Soybean Oil), Enriched Flour (Bleached Wheat
Flour, Niacin, Reduced Iron, Thiamine Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic
Acid), Bleached Wheat Flour, Yellow Corn Flour, Vegetable Starch
(Modified Corn, Wheat, Rice, Pea, Corn), Salt, Leavening (Baking Soda,
Sodium Aluminum Phosphate, Sodium Acid Pyrophosphate, Calcium Lactate,
Monocalcium Phosphate), Spices, Yeast Extract, Lemon Juice Solids,
Dextrose, Natural Flavors.

A much higher proportion compared to other developed countries, yes.
Mainly because America is addicted to corn.

You don't know nothing about America or Hawaii. You don't know a thing about American kids and what they eat. You're ignorant about what's happening on the food scene or what's trending or about the younger generation's concerns about eating meat and the meat industry's unsustainable, cruel, methods.. The younger generation is so ready for products like this.

You don't know a thing about my feelings about Chicken McNuggets nor will I be disclosing that information to the likes of you. Please confine your comments to something you know something about - you parasite!

My fearless prediction: in the new world of fake meat, chickpeas are going to be trending. Soybeans are so yesterday.

That's a question, not a statement. I never claimed to know anything
about Hawaii other than what you portray and that ain't pretty.

Evidently, the only thing you have knowledge is stuff your little mind fantasizes about me. That's just sad and completely pointless - except as some kind of therapy for you. Are you posting from a mental institution?

ROTFL. Another new benchmark for irony. You seem to be astonishingly
ignorant of the mainland USA and it's people. Disagree? Let's have a
vote on RFC?

Definitely not the majority, despite its ubiquity. As a parent of a
current school aged child, I can say I dont see or hear of any parents
that mass feed their kids fast food on a regular basis. At least, not in
my demographic, which is about as average as one can get.

Well, I guess that's one way Hawaii differs from the mainland.

My point was that meat is going down and it's going down sooner than most folks think and that fake chicken nuggets are going to introduce kids to the idea of eating clean meat.

I never said nothing about Hawaiian kids eating and loving Chicken McNuggets. That's just something that your warped brain cooked up because yoose guys will always love to endlessly rehash your prejudices of foods/peoples/cultures yoose guys think is beneath you. I'm interested in the future/culture/history of foods, yoose just interested in displays of your superior taste.. Ha ha, that's so lame.

I had no preconceived idea about Hawaiian cooking. But you said
children learn to eat meat through chicken nuggets and mainlanders
denied that. So I concluded this was a Hawaiian thing.

And if not, you can correct me, rather than get all hoity-toity and
angry. You planted the idea yourself.

ROTFL. What is 'clean meat'?

Its interesting, considering that Hawaii ranks higher than my state on
healthiest states.

states are pretty broad for comparisons - you should look at the
county level - or sub-county, if you have the data (those are usually
not available and if they are it's usually in urban areas)

The people here probably spend more money at fast food places than most states of the union. I don't think that's surprising considering that most parents have to work and a lot of folks work two or more jobs. We are also one of the happiest states. That is surprising considering the oppressively high cost of living. We call it the price of living in paradise. OTOH, it's a small price to pay for being healthy and happy.

As far as this idiotic discussion on the Hawaiian McNugget goes, it's ain't just the Hawaiians, it's nationwide.

True enough. Fast food is (obviously) popular or they wouldn't be
thriving as they are. Does not mean that anyone eats that all the
time. For most people it's an occasional thing to buy. All the
parents I know and have known cook well for their kids. Myself
(and wife) included years ago.

I've made no secret that I do enjoy fast food but I only buy it
about 4 times a year. Some here act like that's all I eat. I
rarely do. Maybe that's why I enjoy it so much when I *DO* buy
some.

So, basically, you eat fast food every day.

I just said 4 times a year. Are you really that stupid?
You really do need to get a life and not live under the wife's
rules all the time.

McDog meal

Years ago, most people cooked. That's not the case today.

Indeed. The only person here who can and does cook is Popeye.
