What's scary to me is the rise of nationalism in the US
and other countries around the world. People think that
it can't happen here but we have a leader that boldly
claims "America first!" and is making the weak and
powerless in our country the enemy and a threat. We have
regular folks feeling empowered and emboldened to declare
that this is "my" country, not "yours." We have the
intellectuals confident that it'll all blow over and sanity
will prevail - just like they did back in the 30's. People
think that "it can't happen here" but I have no reason why
they would think something like that.
