It's not like I'm pushing it, but it's gonna happen.

It's called "natural" or "clean" meat and Impossible(tm) is not the only
one. Just(tm) is already working on a franken-fish. Sounds good, to
me. No antibiotics. How many of you already have no problem with HFCS?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mi5EfhPGHg4

I'm not a vegan (jes bought a real beef rib-eye), but I'm already
"disgusted" with CFO's. I will NOT buy chicken or fish because of how
they are raised.

Notice Cargill and ADM are already in line. That's what scares me. You
know they're gonna screw it up, to make more $$$$. OTOH, they may be
the one's that get govt to accept this alternative.

I've yet to see any of this stuff in our sprmkts, but it's coming. Jes
look in the sausage/lunch meat/hot dogs section.

Me. I don't eat much of it and I don't worry about it.

Buy wild-caught fish and free-range chicken, then.

That would require me to change my habits. There's nothing in those
sections I want to buy, except for this:

I doubt vegans would buy these products, regardless, because it's *meat*.

I can't remember the last time I bought hot dogs. The only thing I tend
to buy in that section is andouille sausage made by the Savannah Sausage
Company; it's practically local.

How is the andouille? I'm always interested in good andouille.
I checked out the Savannah site and they don't say where the sausage is available and they don't have an on line store or any way to order their product.

It's delicious! Very nicely spiced and has a bit of a kick. I was
afraid I wouldn't be able to find good andouille being this far away
from Louisiana and the Mississippi gulf coast. Since it is made in
Savannah, GA it is probably only available in Georgia, South Carolina,
maybe North Carolina. I buy it at Publix supermarket. No, they don't
have an online store. Maybe if you contacted them they'd send you some.
Can't hurt to ask.

Lately I've been thinking about white boudin... that is definitely
something I have not been able to find since I moved to SC.

I must be special, too. I'd rather have a nice, smoked
kielbasa than a hot dog. I can't remember the last time
I bought hot dogs.

I can remember the last time I bought hot dogs.
That said, I do like the sausage dogs better.

I must be special too. I used to buy cheap chicken wieners when I had a
dog to train. A year or so ago I discovered Costco's tube of death, a
huge all beef hot dog and a large and refillable soft drink for $1.50.
My wife likes those things so we buy a package of them once in a while.
She eats them when I am having grilled sausages because she has an
allergy to pork.

Screw vegans. I played that game, once. No more.

I'm glad you can get good andouille. The only brand I can get, locally,
is "aidells". Better than "a poke in the eye with a sharp stick", or
none at all.

I've also tried all the local offerings fer "hot links". and
Johnsonville brand is the best I can do.

Usta get hot links from a resto in Newark, CA. They got 'em from
someplace in Louisiana , and they were as long as donkey dicks (not so
big "around") and were the best I've ever had (would find real chili
pieces in the meat). Unfortunately, they went under, but wouldn't tell
me where they got their hot links. Jerks.

Do let me know! Who knows, you might spark off an online store if they
send you some and you like it.

You're so wrong. I didn't grow up eating hotdogs. Over the years some
posters have waxed rhapsodic about 'Nathan's' or 'Hebrew National'
hotdogs. I've seen those brands at Publix and I really couldn't care less.

I like andouille sausage, yes. I like freshly made bratwurst and both
hot and mild Italian sausage. Not hot dogs. So sorry!

FYI, I think Nathan's has a really tough casing. When I have a hotdog, I don't want to
wrestle with the casing in order to get a bite.

I buy the short, cheaper, chicken and pork Ball Park Franks, a package
of Johnsonville Polish sausage, Nathan's sauerkraut and a couple of
apples for my world famous Weenies and Sauerkraut. Add celery seed to
the mix early and serve with French bread rounds. The two different
sausages provide a much needed variety.
We also enjoy Ballpark Franks as chili dogs and as plain hotdogs.
As I've mentioned before, I got your back on this stuff.

Speaking of special, my guess is that there's a market for boutique meat. The narcissist could have custom made sausages from his own cells. It's the ultimate fantasy meat - eat yourself. How about sausage made from the cells of your favorite K-pop or Hollywood star? How about a Jesus burger? The possibilities are endless.
