bonanza steak house; cuts of beef used?

we used to have a bonanzas here in the late '70's. now at that same location it's a red lobster. anyway, i didn't know until recently that it was owned by dan blocker. makes sense. the food there was not bad as i remember, although at the time i wasn't a fussy eater. anyway, what cut(s) of beef did they use for their steaks? i doubt anyone knows because it's so like long ago, but in case someone does know, let me know.

All I remember is hamburger steak and rib eyes.

Wow, what a weirdly obscure thing for you to ask about.

You're right about Dan Blocker aka "Hoss" for at least the startup. In
Connecticut, of all places.

I don't remember ever seeing one. Then again, in the 1960's and 70's
our parents never took us out to dinner. If Dad wanted a steak he'd
fire up the grill. :)

I can't answer your question but I do remember eating at some in PA. I only
ever got the salad bar.

I remember Bonanza Steakhouse in PA, but I remember Ponderosa Steakhouse also. The last Ponderosa I ate at was in Cincinnati in 2007 or so and at that point it was a lunch buffet, not sure if it was supper buffet also.

Here is an ad for Ponderosa from the 70's:

In the early 80's I worked for York Steak House, but they went belly up a couple years later, although I found out there is still one restaurant left in Ohio.

I remember the Rib Eye was very good. I don't really recall the other
cuts clearly but I think T-bone was one of them.
