Anyone in the path should notify the power company that they are on RFC.
Usually they prioritize getting power back to:
Hospitals
Nursing homes
RFC members
The rest of the peons.

Dang, that could have saved me DAYS of aggravation after Sandy.

I should have read through more threads before I posted what I did about
it. Coastal South Carolina is under an evacuation order starting at
Noon tomorrow (Sept 11, 2018).

I wish I'd known this when Hurricane Matthew took out my power for four
days in 2016!

My power has been off a week several times from snow, floods and wind all.

The Governor of SC rescinded the evac order for Beaufort county just
before it was to take affect. Looks like it's heading your way, not my
way. I already knew that because I keep an eye on the weather models
when hurricanes pop up. Actually, it appears North Carolina will get
the brunt of it. But your area is not going to go unscathed. Be safe.

I'll be glad when it's over and I hope everyone's okay.

Thanks Jill, looks like it turned a little south and we may only get
flooding rain and TS winds here now. They can't tell how much until
they know if it stalls at the coast. Bad for us, better for the folks
south I gather as she will drift down CAT levels? Wishing be the best
for all.
