Default Tossing "pasta water"

Seems someone said something about this, before. Fer some sorta
"carbonara" dish. Worked well. OTOH, I won't be freezing pasta water
any time soon, as I'm not a big fan of pasta-based dishes. But, I'll
remember it, in case I ever do make a pasta dish.

Nope, nope, nope. I'm not freezing pasta water. Nor would/will I add it
to gravies, soups, or stews.

My understanding is that hot dog water can help you lose weight and improve brain function. Please don't believe any of that stuff about boiled egg water - it's all crap! Hot Dog Water is the real deal!

I like pasta well enough but I don't bother saving the cooking water. I
certainly won't be freezing it.

When I drain pasta, I generally save a bit of the cooking water in
case the consistency of the sauce needs to be adjusted. Not going
to freeze it, though.

I will buy into the use of pasta water to help finish the sauce of a
pasta dish, but freezing it makes no sense to me. If you need it to do
the same job on another pasta dish you are already going to have pasta
water. I can't see keeping it for non-pasta dishes. There are other
thickeners and emulsifiers that can be used.

That's true... dawgs are much better slooowly simmered... in beer.
Boiling toughens meat, seizes the proteins.
Simmering removes much of the salts, nitra/ites, and some fat.
Using pasta water to thicken tomato sauce will dilute its flavor, and
if tomato sauce needs thickening it was made watery to begin with,
instead of pasta water add tomato paste. Pasta water is best used for
soups and stews.,,, no need to freeze pasta water, plan to make
soup/stew and it will keep in the fridge a couple three days. Pasta
water is good for baking bread too. Also the water from boiling spuds
can be used the same.
The liquid from simmering dawgs should be tossed, it's nasty. Simmered
dawgs can still be grilled/pan fried.

And most of the flavor. I grill them.

You do know, don't you, that not all pasta sauces are tomato sauce?
Nor are they all cooked in advance. Some are made quite fresh in
a saucepan and use the starch from cooking the pasta to thicken.

Here's one:

That would be correct. Your best bet is to boil the dogs for 30 minutes, let the dogs cool in the water. Then throw the dogs in the trash and drink the water.

As everybody knows, the best dogs are the ones that cook on heated, rotating, metal rollers.
