Default My take on Coffee .

Â* French press , espresso , BULLSHIT !Â* Y'all are makin' this way too
hard ! I grind my beans (Farmers Columbian Peaks and Italian roast from
Walmart mixed 50/50 by weight) in a Black and Decker burr grinder and
brew it in an old Farberware 5 cup AD machine . And I think my coffee is
as good as any I've ever had ... my friend Wally made this comment about
the coffee at a local restaurant - "You can taste the water thru it" ...
I like strong rich coffee that's not bitter . Got it . And it wasn't at
Starbucks ...

Amen, Popeye! We knows that yoose is the only one here that cooks. Maybe
it's those dented, beat up navy pots that makes yoose such a good cook.

French press coffee has cafestol and kahweol in it, it can make LDL go up some but they also have anti cancer effect.

You're always telling us about the legendary time when McDonalds
hamburgers were on special. Other people celebrate independence or the
end of a war.

I'm so disappointed in you. We eat there several times a week. Eating there makes me feel depressed. Filling up my car's gas tank is kind of a drag too. It's pretty much the same thing.

I brew some pretty good coffee but it has come to my attention that this vacuum thingamajig might be brewing at too low a temperature. I measure the water temp at 162 degrees when it should be 199. I don't know if I'll be able to tell the difference taste-wise but I'm gonna find out!

I'm not much of a milk drinker but that is an intriguing product. I'll have to be on the lookout for that. My daughter always buys almond milk so she'll probably be agreeable to buying some oat milk for her old and decrepid daddy.

Today, I brewed some coffee at the correct temperature of 199 degrees instead of the too low temperature of 163 degrees. Well waddaya know, it pretty much tasted like coffee. Well now I know.

Yoose guys ought to make an attempt to get your attributions right. I got a suggestion, don't even try to edit a post. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Attribution: the act of attributing something; especially: the ascribing of a work (as of literature or art) to a particular author or artist

I can make a proper cup of coffee. What I can't make is a cup like the one I had at Morimoto Asia restaurant. I ate at a restaurant this morning. The coffee wasn't great. I guess it was good enough because I had two cups.

Do you ever drink coffee? Not to be nosy or anything but my guess is that coffee is more a young Brit's drink. When I was in London, I did see some old Persian dudes sitting at a Costa Coffee shop. It looked to me that these guys were a permanent fixture over there.

We bought some instant coffee at the places we stayed in the UK once we realized there would be no automatic drip machines in the hotel rooms. We was glad to get it. We had some Starbucks in Liverpool. It pretty much tasted the same as in the states - harsh. The next time we're there, I'll forego the coffee and drink tea. Well, I'll try to do that anyway...

If I was going camping I'd settle for instant coffee, it'd be too hard to clean a percolator or french press.

I have taken a percolator on a camping trip. It's the most wonderful way to make coffee while camping. OTOH, I'm not really a happy camper.

The thing about a percolator is that the area get filled with the smell of coffee. It's the best thing to happen to your aching body after fitfully sleeping on the hard ground. You feel like crap but then that smell starts to make you smile.

We bought some instant coffee at the places we stayed in the UK once we
realized there would be no automatic drip machines in the hotel rooms. We
was glad to get it. We had some Starbucks in Liverpool. It pretty much
tasted the same as in the states - harsh. The next time we're there, I'll
forego the coffee and drink tea. Well, I'll try to do that anyway...

Screw that , I'll take a 5 cup machine and enough ground (by me) to last
the trip with me . I used to carry a Coleman stove and a small
percolator with me on motorcycle camping trips ...

Â* Can't deny it ... though these days I only drink coffee in the
mornings . Working in the cabinet shops I almost always had a cuppa on
the counter near my workbench .
