Default Waldorf salad

This got mentioned in the pecan thread, but I didn't want to get
involved in that nonsense.

Anyway, how do you like your Waldorf salad? My brother wants raisins in
it, one niece likes grape halves. I prefer a simple preparation of
unpeeled apples, diced, with chopped celery, toasted pecans, and
mayonnaise with a bit of lemon juice for dressing.

I add a good amount of honey to the mayonnaise in a Waldorf Salad.

I do mine pretty much like yours, no lemon juice. I do use a bit
of sour cream mixed with the mayo so it adds a smidge of tartness
like the lemon juice. But I will admit to using raisins occasionally
IF I have them.

i don't really like grape halves in it but raisins
are ok as a variation, also the dried cranberries or
cherries.

marachino cherries, mini-marshmallows, pineapple,
shredded coconut, all ok. rice, not so much. cottage
cheese. no thank you.

when i'm wanting low fat recipe i'll use whole-milk
yogurt instead of mayo or miracle whip and then add
more lime or lemon juice or cider vinegar and a
sweetener to compensate.

i rarely make it the exact same way twice. sometimes
i add spices and other times not.

i eat it up pretty quick. nuts and apples are a good
combination.

You seem not to know the meaning of the term.

I've said it before...Julie (and Sheldon) generate a lot of
traffic here on RFC when most of the usenet groups are dying
out. I don't mind any of their posts. I like this group and
would hate to see it fizzle out.

I don't mind Julie's posts, but easy enough to skip some that I choose not
to read after the first sentence.

I agree, but I think that's a futile campaign. I mean, Sheldon been
around how long now? In the past there were other punching bags.
